Rory McIlroy Signed Driver Brings 45,000 RMB At BMW Masters Gala Auction Dinner.

A Rory McIlroy signed driver was auctioned for 45,000 RMB at a BMW Masters Gala dinner in downtown Shanghai on Saturday night.

The driver, along with a number of signed BMW commemorative 18th hole flags, two golf bags and six diecast model BMW Series 7 cars were all part of the auction to raise funds for charity.

A local Shanghai business paid the 45,000 RMN or Euro 5,500/$US 7,200 for the 10.5 degree Titleist driver (see photograph below).

McIlroy joined victorious European Ryder Cup captain, Jose Maria Olazabal along with winning Medinah team mates, Martin Kaymer and Justin Rose at the dinner held in the former ‘African Pavillion’ of the Shanghai Expo site.

The four Ryder Cup players were driven onto the stage in gleaming full-size 7 Series BMW’s ahead of being introduced to the gathering.

And while the players left earlier than guests due to early final round tee times, Rose promised $5,000 to the fund-raising cause.
