Ireland’s Shane Lowry has set himself a top-20 finish heading to the final round of the Omega European Masters.
Lowry was on the seventh tee when clouds rolled-in to completely engulf the course.
It was some time before Tour officials called a halt to play at 11.45am local time but it was to 1.30pm when play resumed.
And when it did, Lowry superbly drove the green at the shortened par four, seventh hole landing a 214 metre 5-wood to two feet and holing the eagle putt.
“The seventh was a great shot because we were on the seventh tee when the siren sounded, so to come back out after the long delay and walk off with an eagle was really nice,” he said.
“But after making the cut for a first time here, it would be great tomorrow to finish off with a round in the mid-60s.
“I’m lying four under par and sharing 25th place but then I’m only two shots outside of top-10 so that would be a good reward for my week’s work.
“But I would be happy with a top-20 and that would be nice to take to Holland next week.”
Scotland’s Richie Ramsay shot the only bogey-free round of the day with a 64 to move to 11-under par and one clear of fellow Scot Paul Lawrie (67) and England’s Danny Willett (68).
