Stroms Force Play To Be Abandoned On Day Three Of PGA Championship.

Officials have abandoned any thought of further play on day three of the 94th PGA Championship.

Play had been halted at 4.50pm before officials called announced just after 6.15pm there would be no further play.

Forty-six players in the remaining field of 72 managed to complete their third round with in-form American Bo Van Pelt shooting a 67 to be the clubhouse leader at three under par and with compatriot, Steve Stricker, also with a 67, on two under par.

Those players still to finish their rounds, including the leading duo or Rory McIlroy and Vijay Singh, both at six under par, must be in place to restart their third round at 7.45am Sunday.

The final round of the season’s final Major will then start in groups of three from the first and 10th tees commencing at 11.44am through to the leading trio at 1.45pm.

The players with the lowest scores, of course, will start from the first.
