Gallacher Facing Double Vehicle Dilemna After Winning Mercedes For Dubai Ace

Stephen Gallacher has a double motor vehicle dilemma after winning a brand new Mercedes Benz S sedan for a hole-in-one on the opening day of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

Gallacher snared his second European Tour ace, and both on the Emirates course, in hitting a 185-yard 7-iron at the par three 15th hole.

Scotland's Stephen Gallacher presented with the keys to a new Mercedes Benz S sedan for his ace at the 15th hole.

Overall, it’s the Bathgate pro’s ninth hole-in-one but only the first time he’s won a prize.

“You can never beat a hole-in-one and the funny thing both aces I’ve had on the Tour have been here in Dubai and on this golf course,” said the Scot.

“My tee shot never left the flag and it took a bounce or two and dropped.

“But the bizarre thing is that I only just bought my wife, Helen a new car.  It’s an Audi so I don’t know what I’m going to do with the Mercedes.”

Gallacher, who carded a first round 69, became the seventh player this season to grab a hole-in-one.

He’s also the 24th player to record an ace in the 23-year history of the Dubai Desert Classic event to hole out in one.

Gallacher was later taken back to the 15th hole where he was presented with the keys to the car.

The Scot’s first ace was at the fourth hole during the final day of the 2005 event but all he earned was the honour on the fifth tee.

And Gallacher says he will delight young son, Jack by presenting him with the ball he used to secure the ace.
