Darren Clarke will look to steady a decline in his game in arranging Phil ‘Wobbly’ Morbey to work as the Northern Irishman’s caddy.
Clarke has not had one top-10 since last July’s Open Championship success at Royal St. George’s.
And he reacted to this poor form, as most professional golfers do, by sacking his Open Championship winning caddy, John Mulrooney.
Clarke approached England’s Danny Willett to ‘borrow’ Morbey for a three-week run of events in the States and starting with next week’s $US 8.5m WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship.

Clarke will then take Morbey to Florida for the back-to-back Honda Classic and WGC – Cadillac Championship at Doral.
“I was speaking with Darren and I don’t mind because I’m on a month’s break now and I’m not playing again to the Andalucian Open,” said Willett.
“Wobbly is a super caddy and you can understand why he’s had so much success.
“Hopefully, he can do well with Darren and Darren can win another one of the WGCs.”
Morbey has 41 victories to his credit including 24 with Welshman Ian Woosnam and 17 victories with other players along with caddying in six Ryder Cups.
“Dazza and I go back a long way so I’ve known him for ages and I’m looking forward to the three week spell,” said Morbey.
