Scott Jamieson ignited hopes of becoming the third straight Scottish winner on the European Tour after moving to a share of second place on day two of the KLM Open at Hilversum.
The Glasgow golfer produced his equal lowest ever round of an eight under par 64 to move into a three way share on eight under par in glorious conditions on the Hilversum course.

England’s Graeme Storm added a 67 to move to 11-under par and three clear of his rivals as he seeks to end a five-year winless drought since his only Tour win, the 2007 French Open.
Jamieson heads into day three sharing second spot with Spain’s Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano (65) and Sweden’s Ryder Cup star Peter Hanson (66)
Jamieson, who began his round from the ninth, raced to be four under par after four holes thanks to two birdies and an eagle.
The Scot’s score, albeit on the par 70 Hilversum layout, equals a similar 64 he shot on the final day to secure third place in the 2011 BMW International Open.
It was a result that proved pivotal in the 28-year old securing a place in the GB & I Seve Trophy team.
But after finishing 59th in last year’s rookie season Jamieson has struggled this year arriving in Holland with just two top-10s compared to five last season, and lying78th on the money list.
“It was a great start with two birdies right out of the gate and then to eagle the 12th or my fourth hole, and to be four under par after four, was a very hot start,” he said after Friday’s round.
“It’s a start we all dream of walking onto the first tee but for it to happen was fantastic.
“But it’s just great to shoot six under par on any day but on a golf course like this, where it’s very tight off the tee, is doubly rewarding.”
Jamieson had just 24 putts in his round and six fewer than day one.
Jamieson has now contested 56 events since joining the Tour and while still looking for a first win he warmed to the idea of being the third straight Scot after Paul Lawrie and Richie Ramsay to win on the Tour.
“That would be a great result to be the third straight Scottish winner but to win after Richie won last week in Switzerland would be really good,” added Jamieson.
“George Murray, Richie and myself shared an apartment in Crans last week and it was great to see Richie win.
“So I’m hoping it might be my turn this week and then maybe George can squeeze in a first victory, as well.”
