Masters Champ Full Of Praise For Defending BMW International Open Champ

EXCLUSIVE …

Bernie McGuire, Munich, Germany,

Masters champion Patrick Reed tees-up later this afternoon here at the BMW International Open in Munich not only a last-up winner on the LIV Tour in his home city of Dallas but full of praise for defending Ewen Ferguson.

Reed will join the Dubai-based Ferguson along Spaniard Eugenio Chacarra teeing-up at 1pm local time on the host Golfclub München Eichenried course.

Ferguson last year superly kept his composure in the overcast and damp conditions to capture a third DP World Tour victory thanks to a closing day 68 and win by two shots at 18-under-par.

Reed had been very much in contention on his debut in the event a year ago but was not helped by a final round 73 to eventually share 13th place.

Ferguson had spoken yesterday (Wednesday) of seeing Reed’s name up on the leaderboard that final round and how if could finish above him and one or two others, he might just win.

The Scot did just that in securing victory.

Reed enjoyed his visit to Munich so much last year he has returned again jetting into Munich via London to take his place in this week’s field and also join fellow LIV star and fellow Masters champion Sergio Garcia in this week’s field.

GolfByTourMiss caught-up with Reed during yestereday afternoon’s pro-am and asked what he knew about Ferguson.

“Ewen seems like a really nice guy and he played very well last year to win”, said Reed.

“It was a big win in his career and very much looling forward to playing alongside him and also Eugenio.

“I haven’t played with Eugenio for a while, so looking forward to catching-up with both he and Ewen.  Hopefully, each of us can feed off each other and have a good start”.

“Also, I’m just delighted to be back him in Munich as last year was my first time and I just enjoyed the tournament so much, and also visiting Munich.

“Of course, it’s great to come back with a ‘W’ in winning last week in Dallas.  It would great to travel to every new tournament with a ‘W’ , so hopefully I can get off to good start and continue playing well as I did last week back home.

“Also, it’s always great for me to return to the DP World Tour being a ‘Life Member’ and always special when I am able to come back and play, and also to catch-up with you.

“Marco at BMW has always treated me extra well, so thrilled to be back and to catch-up with everyone on the Tour who are always so friendly when I travel here to Europe to play”.
