Scot Connor Syme was buzzing after he brilliantly birdied the last at near 8.30pm local Dutch time to take a two shot lead into the final round of the weather interrupted KLM Open.
Syme competing in his 182nd DP World Tour event signed for a five-under 66, caped by a third hole eagle to move to 10-under as he seeks a long overdue maiden Tour victory.

Syme had missed the final green, the par-5 18th and with his third shot finding a bunker but then sent his third to some 15=feet left of the flagstick and then calmly played what was the final shot of the day for a birdie 4 moments after Sweden’s Joaquim Lagergren also holed out for birdie in his round of a level par 71 to be back on eight-under.
Lagargren had battled strong second round winds to lead heading into day three but Syme felt right at home on ‘Moving Day’ not only holing a 39-footer for eagle at three but also grabbing birdies at his 11th, 17th and then for a third day running holing out for birdie at 18.
“So, so good,” Syme said of his round. “Buzzing with that.
“Obviously a bonus to finish with a couple (of birdies) towards the end but overall really, really pleased.
Syme has previously held the 54-hole lead on three previous occasions in his DP World Tour career and a maiden Tour win will be widely received and a long overdue reward.
“Obviously there’s a bit of a gap at the moment for me and Joakim,” he said.
“But with the weather tomorrow it can change so much, so quickly, so I’m just trying to do the best I can on every shot. I know that’s so cliche but that’s my goal.
“I’ve been in this situation a few times now, which have all been so different. It’s really tough to win out here, I’ve obviously given myself a good position a few times and tomorrow’s another great opportunity.
“I would love to do it, obviously, hopefully I can play my game tomorrow and I can do it. Overall I think that’s thinking too far ahead, I’ll just try to play one shot at a time and get that mindset from the start, and what will be will be.”
Wishing you well Connor
