Top ranked Scot Robert MacIntyre has disappointingly crashed out of the Masters and with the double PGA Tour winner from last year posting a pair of 75s for a shock six-over tally.
MacIntyre was teeing-up in his third Masters and a first in three years however he struggled under the weight of a pair of bogey-laden rounds, including ending his second round with three straight bogeys.
The Oban lefty could manage just four birdies over his two rounds but also recorded seven bogeys but also a first round double-bogey at the seventh hole.
It’s a disappointing early exit for MacIntyre who was so much looking forward to putting himself into contention.
“It’s not just one thing, it’s everything about it,” he said when asked at the start of the week what was special about the Masters.
“When you watch on TV, you see the beautiful flowers, it’s just the most perfect setting for a golf course in the world.”
And he made no secret of his desire to become the best golfer in the world and he knows that he must always be ready to make the most of his opportunities: “One chance, that’s all I ask for, just one chance at a major championship and then, hopefully, it can fall my way.
“Golf is a process, so long as I’m achieving my little processes then you get the big trophy the end of the week.”
