The now PGA Tour winning double of Scot Robert MacIntyre and Belguim’s Thomas Detry are returning again as partners to this year’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Twelve months on and MacIntyre and Detry will tee-up in the famed Mardis Gras City each as a PGA Tour winner, the Scot now the double winning the RBC Canadian Open and Genesis Open champ while Detry brilliantly captured this year’s WM Phoenix Open.
The all-European duo had combined in New Orleans a year ago to post an opening 62, and trial just a shot off the lead before eventually settling for a share of eighth place but just three back of the all-Irish winning duo of Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy.

The duo were interviewed by the media post last year’s opening New Orleans round, asked how good was it being in the US event playing alongside someone you each know so well.
“Yeah, it’s my second year out here, for Bob it’s his first year, so it’s nice to have some friendships from back home”, said Detry.
“I live in the UK, he lives in the UK, as well, so we have a nice little connection. Obviously we played so many years on the DP World Tour together.
“I think we always got along pretty well. I think so”.
MacIntyre responded: “Yep, and this week is no different”
Detry adding: “So I think we’re a great team together”.
And should both MacIntyre and Detry again do well in the Zurich, and if both qualify or secure a ‘wildcard’ pick then European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald has himself an ideal Fourball and Foursome partnership.
The same can also be very well said about the defending champs.
