Ewen Ferguson proudly boasts a photograph of Tiger Woods and himself to help inspire the three-time winning Scot to further success in the men’s pro game.
Ferguson, 28, revealed the image of the 15-time major champ and himself taken during practice for the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon ahead of this week’s CB Qatar Masters in Doha.
The Dubai-based Scot returns to Qatar two years after Ferguson bravely fought back from a second hole double-bogey to sensationally chip-in for eagle at the 16th and celebrate also his first pro career victory with a closing round 70 for a one-shot win at seven-under on the sunny but windswept Doha Golf Club course.
Ferguson, 28, became the fourth Scottish-born winner of the event after Andy Coltart and Paul Lawrie won back-to-back in the opening 1998 and the 1999 second hosting while Lawrie won again in 2012.

Ferguson, and speaking with Golf Digest ME, said: “Yeah, I can’t wait. It’s one of my favourite events of the year, and Doha Golf Club is a proper, proper test. Everybody loves it.
“I love it the most though, not just because I won there, but I just love the place. It’s not far from home in Dubai, it’s beautiful, clean, the hotels are amazing, the course is awesome, the facilities are brilliant, the weather is class.
“It gets a bit windy as well like back in Scotland and I think the last three times I’ve played there my worst finish is T16th.
“Also, there are a lot of Scots that live in Doha that come out and watch me play, which is nice to have a wee fan base there as well which is cool”.
Ferguson proudly has three DP World Tour winning trophies back home in Scotland, winning the ISPS Handa Invitational later in 2022 while he’s the reigning BMW International Open winner from Munich last July.
He said: “The Qatar trophy is one of the best in golf! So it’s a good one to have on the resume and hopefully, a second one would be nice in the future.
“You actually get a little replica trophy when you win which is nice. So that’s at my parents’ house back home in Scotland.
“They love it just as much as me. They’ve got three replica trophies now on the mantel piece from my three wins and a picture of me and Tiger Woods at The Open, so that’s their talking point when they’ve got their friends over!
“It’s strange thinking back to then in 2022 and it feels weird actually.
“I feel like a different man now from three years ago. But at the same time, when I watch the videos, it feels like yesterday. Time in golf just goes by so quickly”.
Ferguson, however, arrived in the Qatar capital looking to reignite his new season after the disappointment of the past three events.
He was well in contention after two rounds of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic before fading to a share of 16th while he missed the cut in last two starts in Ras Al Khaimah.
As well, Ferguson’s not broken 72 in his last six rounds.
Joining Ferguson this week is fellow Scots Richie Ramsay, Grant Forrest, Scott Jamieson and Doha-based 18-year-old Scottish amateur Dominic McGlinchey, who is a member at the host club and played in the event a year ago.
