It was a roar not heard around the golf world for some time with 15-year-old Charlie Woods bringing the house down with a stunning hole-in-one at the fourth hole on the final day of the PNC Championship in Orlando.
Charlie used a 7-iron from 175-years but he was clearly unsure what the cheering was all about before getting confirmation his tee shot had found the bottom of the cup on the Ritz Carlton course in Orlando.
“It was a perfect seven iron so I just had to hit it. 175, little down off the left, low cut seven”, said Charlie.
It was awesome. I didn’t think it went in – I don’t believe anyone until I go up there and see it.”
And first to congratulate Charlie was dad, Tiger.
It is Charlie’s first ace since taking-up the game.
