The United States is set to make it 10 wins in succession after the opening day of the 2024 Presidents Cup at the host Royal Montreal club in Canada.
Mike Weir’s men were no match for the Jim Furyk led Americans failing to win any of the five matches on day one of the competition for a fourth time in the 24-year history of the event.
The Americans were simply unstoppable as the stats provided hereunder by the PGA Tour show.
However, and with history against his International Team, Weir was asked what he felt would be the hardest part in bouncing back from the horror start of day one.
“The hardest part? Well, it’s certainly not the team unity and the team spirit. Our guys are still very positive”, said Weir
“Look, reality is it wasn’t a great day, but it’s like the first period of a hockey game the way I look at it. You’re down, but there’s a long way to go. Still significant sessions left.
“That’s the way we’re looking at it”.
