Gary Hurley declared he’s ‘firmly in the saddle’ heading to today’s ( Mon) important cut-off point for 2023 membership qualification of the DP World Tour in Spain.
Hurley, 29, shares sixth place at 10-under and five shots behind Swede Simon Forrstram, who heads the starting 156-player field by two shots at 15-under ahead of the cut being after Monday’s fourth round on the two Infinitum course at Tarragona.

The leading 25 players at the close of Wednesday’s sixth and final round will move straight onto the main Tour for their choice of a series of four co-sanctioned events prior to Christmas.
“It was a good score for how I played,” said Hurley.
“I stayed in the saddle and kept fighting, one shot at a time, played nicely coming in the last few holes and unfortunately to bogey the last, that’s golf. I’m happy with my application today and staying level was key, I struggled with my swing today and didn’t get upset at all it was where it was.
“It’s just mindset now and rest, I was tired when I woke up, going to take some time to rest and watch Man United hopefully win but that’s out of my control! Just rest and be fresh, when I am fresh my mind is fresh and I give myself the best opportunity to access the skills I have.”
Kinsale’s John Murphy signed for a disappointing 73 and at five-under he shares 37th place but is only two shots shy of making the current top-25.
Not so good news for Clandeboyne’s Johnathon Caldwell shooting a 73 and down in a tie for 68th at two-under.
Paul Dunne is at one-under and Cormac Sharvin’s horror year continuing at one-over.
