Congratulations to Dumbarnie Links in winning the 2021 Golf Development of the Year award by Golf Inc. Magazine.
The annual award recognizes the best golf developments around the globe and with Dumbarnie Links having been open for less than 12 months.
The course, and located around 20 miles from the Home of Golf at St. Andrews, was designed by Clive Clark.
“My vision was to design a traditional links on what is a rare piece of genuine links land, but with a modern twist,” said Clark.
“There are a number of ‘risk and reward’ holes such that Dumbarnie Links becomes a strategic thinking man’s (or woman’s) golf course, but is fun for all.
“There are three driveable par-4s (under favourable conditions) but in order to cut the doglegs the golfer has to take a gamble and decide whether he or she is going to be a hero. There are also some twin fairways which create choices off the tee.”
