So What Did Tiger & Rory & Justin Talk About?

So what did Tiger and Rory and Justin talk about during the opening round of the 2020 PGA Championship?

It could not have been about any of the spectators as there is no spectators under COVID-19 rules.

Could they have been chatting about the weather or where each was planning to dine after their rounds.

No, and as may well have expected, the trio of Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas were chatting about football and baseball during the opening round at TPC Harding Park.

A penny for what they are talking about. Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy day one PGA Championship

In fact, the on-course microphone on the fourth tee picked-up Woods saying:  “There was no way I would have a TaylorMade golf bag in the cream, orange and black.”

Those colours are the colours of the local San Francisco Giants baseball team

Woods, a Los Angeles Dodgers fan said: “Giants’ colours, couldn’t do it,”

When McIlroy admitted he was not a baseball expert, Woods asked McIlroy:  “So, what team do you follow?”

McIlroy responding: “Manchester United.”

“So, Liverpool, it would be like having Liverpool colours on your bag,” Woods said. “That’s how much we hate the Giants. I wouldn’t do it.”

One thing for sure they were not talking about was politics!

Woods went out to shoot a two-under par 68 and his lowest opening round in a PGA Championship in 11-years while McIlroy shot a 70 and Thomas a one-over 71.
