Haotong Li’s ‘We Chat’ sponsored cap has everyone talking at the PGA Championship at San Francisco.

Li, 25 brilliantly put himself in position to become the first Chinese-born golfer to win a major but it was his cap that was also drawing attention at TPC Harding Park.

Li brilliantly leads the way by two shots superbly adding a second day 65 to his opening 67 for an eight-under par total.

However in Li’s post round chat with the golfing media he was asked about the sponsor’s name appearing on his cap – ‘We Chat’.

Normally, there’s never any question about sponsors but then on Thursday U.S President ay Trump issued executive orders that would ban both TikTok and WeChat from operating in the United States in 45 days if they are not sold by their Chinese-owned parent companies.

Though that didn’t both the World No. 114 ranked Li who took the question all in his stride.
“I don’t know. Who knows?” took care of that particular question!”, he said smiling.
And the player who brilliantly came from behind two years ago to deny Rory McIlroy the Omega Dubai Desert Classic title is looking forward to the prospects of creating golfing history.
“I’ve got no expectation actually because you know, the last few months stay at home doing nothing,” he said.
“I just want to be out here and have fun.”
