MENA Tour & Alps Tour Reaching New Summit.

The MENA Tour by Arena and the Alps Tour have announced an exciting new reciprocal playing opportunity for members of both Tours.

Starting the 2020 season, the Tours have reached an agreement under which they will give leading five players from the other tour eligibility to play the full season.

The top five available players from the 2019 Final Order of Merit from the Alps Tour (up to top-10 and not otherwise exempt) will thus be able to play the 2020 season of the MENA Tour by Arena, while the five top four professional and the Leading Amateur from the 2020 Journey to Jordan on the MENA Tour (going down to 15 players) will earn full playing rights on the Alps Tour for the 2020 season.

The Alps Tour was established in 2001 by four countries – Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland – to give young professionals the opportunity to play and get a better experience of professional tournaments to play the Challenge Tour and the European Tour in the future. In recent years, Belgium, Spain, Slovenia, Morocco and Egypt have become part of the Tour.

Several European Tour winners have started or played on the Alps Tour, including Matt Wallace, Guido Migliozzi, Nicolas Colsaerts, Benjamin Hebert, Eddie Pepperell and Mike Lorenzo-Vera.

Estelle Richard, Chief Executive & Operations Director of the Alps Tour, said: “We are delighted to create this new mutually beneficial partnership with the MENA Tour by Arena and we hope it is the foundation stone for more development between our Tours. This cooperation gives more opportunities to our best players to compete on great golf courses with great players and help the talented players on MENA Tour to climb up the European ladder.

“Since our inception, we always try to cooperate with new countries in the MENA region: Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt. We have had great experiences in these countries and our desire is to sustain and develop this friendship in the future and help to grow the game of golf.”

David Spencer, Strategic Advisor to MENA Tour by Arena, said: “Collaborations like this is mutually beneficial to both the Tours. Some of the top players can now be rewarded with an extended season of playing competitive golf. They can start on the MENA Tour and play through until the start of winter in Europe on the Alps Tour.

“We already have great relationships with the Asian Tour and in the Alps Tour, we have found another strong partner.”

The MENA Tour by Arena was established in the UAE in 2011 and has grown over the years to become one of the most exciting development tours in the world. With a minimum prize fund of $75,000 and Official World Golf Ranking points, it offers excellent opportunities for pros and the top amateurs.

The 2020 season of the Tour starts with the Qualifying School from January 20 onwards at Ayla Golf Club in Aqaba, Jordan. Registration for the Qualifying Schools are now being accepted on www.menatour.golf.
