Michelson Now Heading To Shinnecok For ‘Take Five’ In His Grand Slam Quest.

Augusta, GA ….

Phil Mickelson will head to June’s U.S. Open fir ‘Take Five’ in his quest to claim the one Grand Slam major to allude the now 47-year old.

Mickelson won a third ‘Grand Slam’ major in winning the 2013 Open at Muirfield

Since then Mickelson’s U.S. Open results have been T28th (2014), T64th (2015), missed cut (2016) while last year he skipped the event to attend his daughter’s graduation.

And the great news for Mickleson is that on the last two occasions the U.S. Open was held at Shinnecock Hills he was fourth (1995) and second (2004)

“Well the difficult thing for me is I continue to put, I put a little bit too much pressure on myself in the Majors now because I know that I don’t have a ton of time to win them, especially U.S. Opens, but these next two U.S. Opens, Shinnecock and Pebble Beach give me two really good opportunities,” he said

“So, I need to keep my game, get my game sharp, but I really need to be on those weeks and in the past I’ve been on at Shinnecock and I’m hopeful to do it again”.

Mickelson was speaking after ending a 26th Masters with a round of 67 for a two-over tally.
