European Tour No. 1 Tommy Fleetwood was in the middle of a TV interview when he got the surprise of being handed a birthday cake with lit candles by Rory McIlroy.
Fleetwood and McIlroy along with World No. 1 Dustin Johnson had played alongside each other in the opening two rounds of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
Fleetwood turned 27 and just weeks after celebrating the birth of a son and then only recently getting married in the Bahamas to new wife, Clare and his former long-time manager.

“It was nice to wake up with my son this morning,” said Fleetwood.
“But then I’ve never been handed a birthday cake by Rory McIlroy before, that’s for sure. I might have to repay the favour. When’s his birthday?”
In fact, McIlroy turns 29 on 4th May and during the week of the PGA Tour’s Wells Fargo Championship and with both competing in the event.
