Knox Shoots Stunning Second Straight 64 In Seven Days At Career Builder.

For a second occasion is seven days Russell Knox has signed for a round of 64 and the latest a blistering second round display on the Nicklaus Course at PGA West at the Career Builder Challenge at La Quinta, California.

A week ago, Knox recorded a six-under 64 and also in the second round in the Sony Hawaiian Open before eventually sharing 10th place.

On day two of the $US 6.2m Career Builder it was round that included five outward birdies, among those three in succession from the second hole, and then three inward half birdies in an eight-under par 64 to move into a share of 10th place on 11-under.

Now with two rounds remaining in the Californian desert Scotland’s top-ranked golfer is excited at the thought not only of improving his current World No. 77 ranking and boosting hopes of returning to the Masters in April.

“A 64 is probably the highest score I could of shot as I must have missed four to five other birdie chances out there,”he said.

“There were not too many rounds I have played any better than that and it was one of those rounds where I just didn’t want to leave the course, and would have loved for it to keep going.

“There was a stretch there for about 12 to 13 holes I was putting for birdie not outside 15-feet.

“So, while I am delighted to have shot eight under it could have been really special.”

And Russell Knox is happy to sign autographs after this second round of 64 in seven days.

Knox was met aftert his round by wife, Andrea who was equalled delighted and with the couple heading off for what surely would have been a very enjoyable evening meal.

American Andrew Landry heads the $US 6.2m event posing a 65 to move to 16-under par while European Ryder Cup certainty, Jon Rahm added a 67 to his career-low 62 of a day earlier to be in second place on 15-under par.
