Open Champion, Jordan Spieth revealed he is now reserving only his favourite reds to drink from the Claret Jug.

Golf’s most-famous trophy has been in the Texan’s possession for just over a month and he’s also delighted in having friends around for dinner and serving wine from the trophy.

“I had friends over to my house last Saturday and we used the Claret Jug to pour wine from it and it is the first time I have had red wine in the Jug,” he said.

“I wanted to get kind of every other drink out of the way as it will be pretty much solely wine, and my favourites being red, that I will pour from the Jug.

But while new PGA Champion, Justin Thomas says his Rodman Wanamaker trophy is bigger, Spieth also reminded Thomas he also has U.S. Open and FedEx Cup trophies.

“When you combine the Claret Jug, the U.S. Open trophy and my FedEx Cup trophy I guess Justin’s trophy is close”, said Spieth smiling.
