Spieth Paired With Boo As He Seeks To Win Wire-To-Wire For Only Second Time Since Masters Win.

Cromwell, Connecticut …

Jordan Spieth retained his lead for a third day running birding three of his closing four holes heading to the final round of the Travelers Championship.

The American posted a four under par 66 to move to 12 under and one clear of Boo Weekly who shot a 65 to be at 11 under.

Spieth is looking not only to capture a tenth PGA Tour victory at the Travelers but only a second when the Texan has led start to finish, and with the first occasion being in capturing his first Major – 2015 Masters.

And the current World No. 6 was asked his views of contesting the final day of the $US 6m event in the company of “Boo”.

“I hope I’m having as much fun each day as Boo’s having. I mean, he lives it up and it’s fun to be around Boo,” he said.

“He’s always very nice to everybody he sees. Has some kind of a joke. If he’s had a couple pops you barely understand him with his country accent. He’s a guy everybody very much respects and really likes being around, and that’s fun.

“That’s fun to play with. He’s a really good ball striker who a couple events that I’ve been involved in in the heat of things he shot very low numbers on Sundays. He’s not afraid to do so.

“But, yeah, to answer your question, I can certainly see it, but it’s not uncommon for me out here on the PGA Tour to play with somebody that’s a veteran who has won a few times around Boo’s age.

“There are certainly guys that are in a similar position to myself. I don’t think that will be anything that I’m thinking about tomorrow”.
