Adare Manor Rumoured To Be Bidding For 2026 Ryder Cup & Harrington Delighted.

Palm Beach Gardens, FL …

Adare Manner could be in the bidding for the 2026 Ryder Cup and Padraig Harrington could not be happier.

Rumours have surfaced at this week’s Honda Classic that Irish businessman, J P McManus, and owner of the Adare Manor course in Co. Limerick, will bid to host the biennial event.

Ireland hosted the hugely successful and very 2006 Ryder Cup at the K. Club when Ian Woosnam’s team, and inspired by an emotional Darren Clarke, won for a second time running by a record-equalling nine points.

And while Harrington is being ear-marked to captain the 2022 European Team into competition in Rome, he’s thrilled at the thought Adare Manor possibly hosting a Ryder Cup.

Harrington is a long-time strong friend of McManus and also captured his only Irish Open title in 2007 at Adare Manor.

“I know from speaking with J P that he would love to have to Ryder Cup come to Adare Manor in 2026”, said Harrington.

“The thing about Adare Manor is you won’t find a better golf course or a better venue anywhere.

“Everything about Adare Manor is great and would be a fine Ryder Cup venue.

“I know that have spent Euro 22m on the golf course and Euro 150m on doubling the size of the hotel, so Adare Manor clearly has the infrastructure in place to host a Ryder Cup.

“So, I know J P has an interest in bringing the Ryder Cup back to Ireland and having won my Irish Open at Adare Manor, I’d love to be there”.

Harrington was speaking after posting a two-over par 72 on day one of the event he captured in 2005 and a decade later.
