Day Hits Baltursol Opening Two Rounds Alongside MIckelson and McIlroy.

World Number One Jason Day will launch his defence of the PGA Championship alongside American Phil Mickelson and Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy when play gets under way later this week at Baltsurol Golf Club in New Jersey.

Day, who claimed his first Major Championship at Whistling Straits 12 months ago, will tee off alongside Mickelson and the man who triumphed the last time the PGA was held at Baltsurol.

Masters champ Danny Willett will play the first two rounds of the 98th PGA in the company of current U.S. Open champion Dustin Johnson and Open Champion Henrik Stenson.

World No. 3 Jordan Spieth will play the Lower Course at Baltusrol alongside Spain’s Sergio Garcia, who captured his 22nd top ten Major finish and second top five Major finish of the year at Troon two weeks ago, and double Masters winning Bubba Watson.

Three former PGA champions are grouped together with 200 winner Martin Kaymer, 2009 champion YE Yang and 2013 triumphant Jason Dufner, while four-time Major winner Ernie Els’ finds himself grouped with the American pairing of Rickie Fowler and double Major winning Zach Johnson.
