Furyk Confirms Return To Tour Next Week But Still Awaiting Woods.

Crail, Scotland … Jim Furyk, who had surgery on his left wrist in early February, indicated he will return to competition next week at the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow.

Furyk, 45, also is planning to play in the PGA Tour’s signature event, THE PLAYERS Championship, the following week.

The 17-time PGA Tour winning Furyk hasn’t played on Tour since he withdrew from the first round of the BMW Championship last autumn

At the time, Furyk had hoped to heal quickly enough to compete in The Presidents Cup in October but he ended up instead serving as an assistant captain. When the wrist didn’t respond to treatment he opted for surgery earlier this year.

Furyk, the 2010 FedExCup champion, has dropped to No. 24 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

He won the Wells Fargo Championship in 2006 and is a two-time runner-up (2005, ’14) in the event. Furyk, who lives in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, has never won THE PLAYERS, but was runner-up in 2014.
