Darren Clarke Facing His Toughest Challenge – Guest Judge At 2016 Miss Northern Ireland Contest.

Crail, Scotland … Darren Clarke could be facing one of his toughest tests in the countdown to Hazeltine tonight and it’s not on a golf course nor speaking to a group of golfers or sponsors.

Europe’s Ryder Cup Captain is expected to don his best suit and tie as a guest judge at local judging of the 2016 Miss Northern Ireland contest at the Bull’s Eye Pub in Coleraine.

Tonight’s (FRD) heat is the eighth of thirteen regional heats being held across the province, with heats happening in Ballymena, Banbridge, Bangor, Belfast, Coleraine, Cookstown, Derry/Londonderry, Dungannon,  Enniskillen, Maghera, Omagh and Templepatrick.

Clarke, as a guest judge, will vote on two finalists from each heat will go on to compete in the Grand Finale which will take place in Belfast’s Europa Hotel on 16th of May.

Contest organiser Alison Clarke, and wife to Europe’s Ryder Cup Captain, said, “We are looking forward to meeting lots of new talent at the upcoming regional heats. Our talent scouts have been out and about over the last few weeks and, so far, we have had great response.

“The contest is about more than just superficial beauty; it’s about finding talented young women, who will be judged not only on their appearance but also on their personality, poise, presence and intelligence.

“The winner will become an ambassador for Northern Ireland and will be given support and guidance throughout her reign and beyond. Over the year’s we’ve nurtured many young women who have gone on to achieve high profile careers in modelling, the media and business. The contest really is an opportunity of a lifetime.”
