Stephen Gallacher Furious Over Dubai Desert Classic Marshals Reaction To Lost Ball.

Former double Dubai winner Stephen Gallacher was left ruing losing his opening tee shot down the left side of the 10th fairway and with three marshals, who were in the vicinity of where his tee shot landed refusing to allow some 30 people, including his family, manager and friends cross the fairway to look for the double Dubai winners’ ball.

“I had 30 of my pals there and none of them were allowed to help me look for my ball,” said Gallacher.

“There was three marshals, two on the right of the fairway but only one on the left, where spectators aren’t allowed to walk.

“We asked if I could have help looking for my ball but they wouldn’t allow them.

“So a lost ball wasn’t the best start. But the game I’ve got just now I’d be struggling to break par round Bathgate

“You can try your best but when you are missing right and left it’s tough – and I’ve had that for three weeks.”

Gallacher bogeyed the hold on route to a 75 and miss the one under par cut off mark by two strokes, and after winning the event in 2013 and 2014, and finishing fifth behind McIlroy a year ago.

Three years ago, and on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the event, Gallacher’s son Jack was instrumental in avoiding his father losing a ball when he found it during the opening round of the 2014 tournament that Gallacher would proceed to capture.
