World No. 1 Rory McIlroy may be injured and not defending this week’s WGC – Bridgestone Invitational but he’s been spotted about the Firestone Country Club course in Akron, Ohio.

Patrons attending this week’s $US 9.25m event will be greeted by a billboard size pic of McIlroy as the 2014 champion.

Rory McIlroy’s name on the plaque of former champions to the right of the first tee at Firestone CC.

As well, McIlroy’s name appears on a plaque to the right of the first tee featuring all past winners of every event contested on the Firestone course.

McIlroy’s picture also appears on a poster all players are being asked to sign when they visit the ‘Player Services’ office here at the Bridgestone.

However you won’t see McIlroy’s signature on the poster nor will it appear on some one dozen commemorative flags all players competing this week are being asked to sign.
