1. Spieth is a name with German origins and means ‘successful’ and ‘speedy’.

2. As a four-year old Spieth had his two front teeth broken when he tried to catch a baseball at a Texas Rangers NBL game. Two years ago he threw a ceremonial first pitch at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas.

3. Neither of his parents played golf. His dad played college baseball and his mother college basketball.

4. When Spieth’s not playing golf he loves fishing.
