In return for One Direction member Niall Horan’s expert caddying for Rory in last week’s Par 3 Tournament at Augusta, the World’s Number One Golfer is believed agreed to perform with One Direction during an up-coming Stateside tour later this year.
If it all works out, McIlroy will take to a stage of a different type and the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts on 12 September.
And the date does not clash with the FedEx Cup play-off series falling as it does on the Friday of the week off between the staging of the Deutsche Bank and BMW Championships.

“That was part of the deal,” Horan told the Golf Channel.
“If I went on the bag with him, he would come on stage and sing with us.
“He’s playing in the Deutche in Boston at the end of the summer and we’re playing in the Gillette Stadium in Foxboro in the same week, so we going to get him up.
“He said if he’s allowed pick the song then he’s going to do it.”
Asked whether he had ever heard the 25-year-old sing in the past, Horan answered: “No, but apparently, he’s terrible.”
