Arnold Palmer Confirms He’ll Hit Masters Ceremonial Tee Shot.

Four-time Masters winning Arnold Palmer reaffirmed he will be fit enough to join Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player in hitting the 2015 Masters ‘ceremonial’ tee shot.

Palmer is still recovering after dislocating his right shoulder when the now 85-year old tripped and fell during last December’s ‘Father and Son’ tournament at the Grande Lakes course in suburban Orlando.

“I tripped and did a 360 on a section of carpet in the clubhouse at Grande Lakes,” said Palmer.

“Oh yeah and I plan on still teeing up, and I will be there whatever.

“I haven’t been practicing as I haven’t been able to swing a golf club.”

Palmer has been an honorary Masters starter since 2007 before being joined in 2010 by Nicklaus and then in 2012 by Player.

Palmer had been picked-up and flown from his home in Orlando to Doral, and this weeks’ WGC – Cadillac Championship, in one of Donald Trump’s private helicopters as guest of honour in officially opening the ‘Arnold Palmer Suites’, and one of 10 completely refurbished luxury suites on course at Trump International Doral.

Palmer and Trump, along with Trump’s wife Ivana, then cut a ceremonial ribbon before Palmer was taken on a tour of the villa.

“It’s a great pleasure to have my name featuring on one of the villas here at Trump Doral, and I’m flattered,” said Palmer.

“I can’t believe what has happened here since the last time I was here and that is a long time ago as they have done a wonderful job.

“I first came here when the resort was opened and let me tell you that was a long time ago and what they’re done here is beautiful.”
