Alex Levy’s Emotional Tribute To Fellow French Sports Stars.

France’s Alex Levy will pay tribute to three of his compatriots killed in a helicopter crash earlier this month at the Trophee Hassan II.

Olympic gold medal winning swimmer Camille Muffat, boxer Alexis Vastine and sailor Florence Arthaud were among ten people to lose their lives when two helicopters collided in Argentina a fortnight ago.

And, in order to respect their memory, two-time European Tour winner has had their names inscribed on his sand wedge.

“On my sand wedge I have the names of the three French athletes who died in Argentina,” said Levy.

“It was a tragic thing that happened a couple of weeks ago, so it is to remember the three athletes and the five people working for French TV.

“In December I was skiing in the south of France and I met some of them there. One of the girls, I knew her boyfriend through golf, as he was trying to turn professional.

“It is important to remember them and remember how lucky we are; life can change when you don’t think about it or know it.”
