Crail Golfing Society – Opening Tee Shot Of 2015.

It was cold but glorious sunny afternoon today when I drove up to the Crail Golfing Society for the first time in 2015.

There to greet me was Crail’s very affable assistant professional, David Snodgrass.

However before taking to the Balcomie Course there was a matter of being financial and that meant a trip to the office to pay my annual subs.

And with a 2015 Member’s circular tag to add to 14 others on my bag tag it was straight to the first tee and a much-awaited first game of the New Year at golf’s seventh oldest club.

Thankfully, plenty of games over the past three months since I was last at Crail proved fruitful in finding the opening fairway and then walking off a few minutes later with a two putt par.

In fact, the nine holes I played were pretty decent – 1st hole, par;  2nd hole, bogey;  3rd hole, par; 4th hole, bogey; 5th hole, bogey;  6th hole, par; 7th hole, par; 8th hole, par and ninth hole, par.

That translated into an uncharacteristic 23 Stableford points and bizarrely a points score I managed in one of my last games of 2014 on 9th October last year.

Now the big test will come tomorrow when I put a Balcomie scorecard in my back pocket for my opening medal challenge of 2015.

Anyway here’s a selection of photographs from my first outing of 2015 at Crail Golfing Society.
