Stephen Gallacher Wins Yet Another Dubai Trophy.

Stephen Gallacher captured his third Dubai Desert Classic trophy in two years after teaming with Sweden’s Henrik Stenson to capture the 2015 Champions Challenge this afternoon on the Emirates Club course.

Gallacher and Stenson ended with a Two-man scramble score of eight under par moments before World No. 1 Rory McIlroy holed a 15-foot putt for he and playing partner Sergio Garcia to tie the Scot and the Swede.

All four players headed to the ‘Drop Zone’ in front of the water guarding the green at 18th for a ‘Nearest to the Pin’ contest to decide the winner.

Gallacher was the third player to hit his shot and he did so landing it the closest and some four-feet from the pin and just inches inside that of McIlroy’s.

The Scot captured the 2013 Omega Dubai Desert Classic and then last year successfully defended the gleaming ‘Coffee Pot’ trophy.
