Bernie Meets Up In Naples, Florida With Leading Scottish Caddy Davy Sharp.

It was a pleasant surprise that while present in Naples, Florida to report on the Franklin Templeton Shootout we should catch up with good friend, Davy Sharp.

Davy is one of Scotland’s leading club caddies and it was as a fellow member of the Crail Golfing Society I came to get to know Davy very well.

He has based himself for some six years now during the winter months in Naples, Florida where he works as a caddy at the exclusive Old Collier course, and 18-hole championship course designed by noted golf course architect Tom Fazio.

The course is somewhat unique with its single-bag caddy program that encourages Club members to walk the course employing caddies that hail from some of the finest golf clubs in Scotland, England, Ireland and the United States.

Davy is aptly qualified as during the summer months he works as a caddy on the Old Course at St. Andrews.

And Davy’s qualities were recognized late last year by American-born pro Ken Duke, winner earlier in the year of the PGA Tour’s 2013 Travelers Championship, as he caddied for Ken in the prestigious European Tour’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
