An Istanbul-based r0ck band, with a distinct taste of Turkish sounds but singing ‘western’ rock-and-roll hits, delighted guests late into the evening at a gala ceremony on the eve of the 2014 Turkish Airlines Open.

Turkish Airlines and the stunning Maxx Royal Hotel seem to spare no expense in spoiling guests with a fantastic arrangement of local and international cuisine.

The entertainment got off to a blast with a spectacular fireworks display over the Maxx Royal pool before Victor Dubuisson defeated Martin Kaymer in their Turkish Airlines Challenge.

What then followed was a superb performance by an orchestral group.

The superb evening wound down with the Dolapdere Big Gang rocking the hotel with their unique cover version of some of rock-and-rolls all-time favourites including Deep Purple’s ‘Smoke on the Water’ and the Animals smash recording of ‘Don’t let me be misunderstood’.

The band gets its name Dolapdere that is a quarter of Beyogla district in central Istanbul, Turkey.
