Top-20 Race To Dubai Finishers To Qualify For WGC – Cadillac Championship.

The final make-up of the 2014 Race to Dubai standings takes on more significance with the top-20 on the money list to qualify for next year’s WGC – Cadillac Championship at TPC Doral.

Players in the current top 15 seemingly are almost guaranteed their place including Rory McIlroy (1st), Henrik Stenson (2nd), Jamie Donaldson (3rd), Marcel Siem (4th), Brooks Koepka (6th), Alexander Levy (7th), Thomas Bjorn (9th), Victor Dubuisson (10th), Graeme McDowell (11th), Ian Poulter (13th), Joost Luiten (14th) and Scotland’s Stephen Gallacher (15th).

But then there are the following players on the bubble lying between No. 16 and No. 25 that will need a good week in Dubai to finish inside the top 20 include:

16           Mikko Ilonen                                                                     21           Thongchai Jaidee

17           Shane Lowry                                                                      22           Tommy Fleetwood

18           Ross Fisher                                                                        23           Charl Schwartzel

19           Miguel Angel Jimenez                                                    24           George Coetzee

American Brooks Koepka made a statement last week by winning the Turkish Airlines Open, the penultimate event in the Race to Dubai, by one shot over Ian Poulter.

And despite a horror first round in Dubai of 78 that sent him to last place in the 60-player field Koepka will be making his WGC debut at the Cadillac Championship.

Stenson, winner of the 2013 FedExCup, has not won a tournament on the PGA TOUR or European Tour this season, but his solid play throughout the year, including a runner-up finish at the Volvo World Match Play Championship in October, has moved him into second place in the Race to Dubai entering the last event.

He was also a member of Europe’s successful Ryder Cup team, which defeated the Americans at Gleneagles in Scotland and has played in the Cadillac Championship seven times in his career, with his best finish coming in 2005 when he tied for third.

A host of other European Ryder Cup stars also have a good chance to qualify for the Cadillac Championship along with Stenson, as Jamie Donaldson, Thomas Bjorn, Victor Dubuisson, Graeme McDowell and Ian Poulter are all in the top 20 heading into Dubai. Lee Westwood will need a strong finish if he hopes to jump into the top 20 from his current spot at 25th.

Former International Presidents Cup team players are also in the running to finish in the top 20, with South Africans Charl Schwartzel in 23rd and Louis Oosthuizen in 20th.

Players currently inside the top 20 in the Race to Dubai standings who are already qualified for the Cadillac Championship via their standing in the 2014 FedExCup include
