Keegan Bradley Bizarrely Refuses To Unpack 2012 Ryder Cup Suitcase.

In a bizarre revelation former PGA Champion Keegan Bradley has never unpacked the suitcase full of clothing and personal affects he brought home from competing in the 2012 Ryder Cup in Medinah.

The American confirmed this after posting a first round two under par 68 in the WGC – Bridgestone Invitational, and the event he captured two years ago here at the Firestone Country Club course.

“It’s true that I haven’t unpacked that bag and it’s still sitting in the house since competing in the 2012 Ryder Cup,” said Bradley.

“I actually just saw the case before leaving to come here this week and for a split second I felt like opening it to get a little motivation, and just to see what is in there.

“I’m not even 100% sure what’s in there.

“I know there is dirty clothes but nothing like bananas but I am going to hopefully wait to I know I will be playing on the Ryder Cup team, so if that’s the case I will open it.”

And Bradley revealed, just as Graeme McDowell had mentioned on the eve of the WGC – Bridgestone Invitational, that the American will not be involved in handling any trophy until he has won the tournament.

McDowell said he had been asked this week to be photographed with the Rodman Wanamaker Trophy but politely declined, and now Bradley said he was also asked to pose with the PGA Championship prize a year before he clinched the trophy in 2011 at the Atlanta Athletic Club.

“They wanted me to hold the Wanamaker Trophy for a promotion for the PGA Championship, and before I won the title, but I wouldn’t do it,” he said.

“They probably thought I was being a jerk but that’s kind of my superstition.

“I’ve had chances to touch the Claret Jug and drink out of it including being with Rory last week and drinking out of it but I really won’t touch or hold a trophy till I’ve won it.

“But I don’t know what it is but I’m just a really weird guy, so it’s just a little superstition of mine and if I do get to hold the Claret Jug it will be when I win it for a first time.”
