Tiger Woods Ryder Cup Qualifying Plan – Win Both Bridgestone & PGA Championship

Tiger Woods has sought to relieve any pain USA captain Tom Watson may be experiencing in the 14-time Major Champion trying to qualify for September’s Ryder Cup.

The seven-time Stars and Stripes star is currently languishing in 70th place on the USA Team standing and 2, 644, 650 points behind Zach Johnson, who is in ninth place.

However while Watson wonders whether or not he will afford Woods a ‘wildcard’ pick in announcing his three picks, the eight-time Bridgestone Invitational winning Woods says he has a better plan over these next two weeks while in Akron, Ohio and Louisville, Kentucky.

“Well, I would like to win these two events and not have to worry about anything,” he said.

“That’s the plan.  That’s the mindset.  That’s the focus.

“We’ll see how it falls after these few weeks. Other than that, I’m so far out of it right now that I need to play well to get myself there where I can get myself into the (FedEx) Play Offs and ultimately, hopefully, play all four weeks”.
