Supercaddy John ‘Ronnie’ Roberts came to the rescue of reigning PGA Champion Jason Duffner moments before the American was due to tee off in round two of the Volvo China Open.

Here is ‘Ronnie’s’ own words have he saved Duffner some embarrassment ahead of his round on the Genzon Golf Club course.

Because Brett Rumford, US PGA champion Jason Dufner & world No3 Henrik Stenson were off early R2 (0725) there was insufficient time for everyone in the group to go to the loo on the range so we chose to go @ the half way house alongside the first tee.

Walking alongside me was Jason Dufner who had the same intention & disappeared into the gents.

However seconds later the American emerged  to inform me there was no loo paper.

Ronnie to the rescue!!!

Without hesitation I mentioned to Jason to “hang on” and then dug deep into Brett’s golf bag to open another bag of necessities Brett always carries on the course and presented Jason Dufner with loo paper.

A couple of minutes later the relieved Jason appeared on the tee.

Jason then asked me what does he keep in the little bag inside Brett’s golf bag and I replied: “Sharpened pencils with rubbers, spare shoe laces, spare spikes(various), coins(for Brett Rumford to mark balls before putting), mosquito repellant, Elastoplasts, gauze & the important roll of toilet paper”.

It was very nice of Jason at the conclusion of the round to shake my hand & thank me for his help in also having made the cut right on the mark.”
