Martin Laird Slumps To Worst Stateside Tour Score Shooting Hilton Head 81.

Scotland’s Martin Laird slumped to his worst-ever score Stateside posting a horror 10-over par 81 to crash to near last place in the RBC Heritage Classic at Hilton Head in South Carolina.

Laird’s round included four bogeys and three double bogeys and he managed to head for home before torrential rain halted play near 3pm local time before officials later abandoned play.

His round was 10 shots more than an opening 71, and it’s Laird’s highest-ever US-based round on either the secondary Web.com Tour or the PGA Tour since making his debut in the States in 2005.

However the current World No. 104s official worst official PGA Tour round is his shock third day 82 in the 2012 Open Championship at Royal Lytham and St. Annes and when Laird went into the day having been well in contention after two rounds.
