Rory McIlroy Dragged Into Chamblee Controversy Declaring: “Chamblee Needs To Be Dealt With!”

Former World No. 1 Rory McIlroy has been drawn into the on-going Tiger Woods/Brandel Chamblee cheating controversy declaring Chamblee ‘needs to be dealt with’.

McIlroy was asked to comment on the issue involving the world’s top-ranked golfer and the Golf Channel TV commentator at a gala launch ahead of this week’s WGC –

“I say Brandel was completely wrong and I don’t expect he has the authority to say anything bad about Tiger,” said McIlroy.

“People wouldn’t know who Brandel Chamblee was if it wasn’t for Tiger Woods, so I am completely against what he said and I think he should be dealt with in the right way.”

McIlroy’s remarks come just a day after Woods spoke to www.golfbytourmiss.com declaring the matter was now in the court of the Golf Channel and in a veiled threat the ‘golf only’ TV network founded by Arnold Palmer, should act in dismissing the now embattled Chamblee.

The Golf Channel has remained silent since Woods’ comments on Monday ahead of the Match at Mission Hills.

However with the double Major winning McIlroy now clearly on the side of Woods, and declaring the Golf Channel needs to act, then it would seem the Golf Channel is now in threat of losing not only any relationship with Woods but now McIlroy.
