McIlroy Exhibits Frustration – Slamming Putter Into Corporate Staircase.

Rory McIlroy could probably be forgiven for his display of frustration at the final hole on day three of the BMW Masters in Shanghai.

After finding a deep greenside bunker, the current World No. 6 left his third shot well short of the flag and then needed three putts to find the bottom of the cup in a round of 71 for a share of 14th place on two under par.

It left the double Major winning  Irishman trailing six shots behind the leading duo of Spain’s Rafa Cabrera-Bello and American Luke ‘T Rex’ Guthrie.

McIlroy was clearly disappointed with his finish so much so that as he started making his way up the staircase to the scorer’s hut there was two large and distinct sounds that caught the attention of patrons.

The sounds were McIlroy’s Nike putter being slammed down hard on the wooden steps.

He then left the scorer’s hut by-passing waiting journalists and autograph-hunting spectators.

Unfortunately, McIlroy was not the only player to come unstuck at the last hole with a total of 34 players in the now 76-player field failing to make par while there was just seven players to make birdie.

McIlroy now has one round to play before jetting off to Hainan Island straight after the final round for Monday’s showdown against Tiger Woods.

Woods will be looking to exact revenge on the Northern Irishman after McIlroy won the ‘Battle at Lake Jinsha’ by a shot.
