Donald Trump has ‘fired’ leading world golfers Justin Rose, Louis Oosthuizen, Charles Howell 111, Steve Stricker and told Ian Poulter his dress sense is no where near as good as the billionaire American.
However in a twist during a segment shown on TV during the third round of the WGC – Cadillac Championship the Donald Trump doing the ‘firing’ was not the real life owner of this week’s host Doral ‘Blue Monster’ course.
nstead the person sporting ginger hair under a familiar Donald ‘Trump ‘Trump Doral’ red cap was not Donald Trump but former PGA Tour player, Peter Jacobsen.
Jacobsen is used to impersonations as he thrilled crowds at the 2010 CVS Caremark Charity Classic with his impersonation of golf legend Arnold Palmer. He also has impersonated Craig Stadler and last year took off Jason Dufner with Lee Trevino and Steve Elkington in the audience and roaring with laughter.
However Jacobsen took his impersonations to another level taking a leaf out of Trump’s part on the acclaimed TV Series – The Apprentice.
The US verison of show was billed as “The Ultimate Job Interview” where the prize is a one-year, $250,000 starting contract to run one of Trump’s companies.
And each episode typically ends with Trump eliminating one of the contestants with the words, “You’re fired”.
Jacobsen ala Trump addressed each of the players individually seeking their credentials and offering advice.
He told Poulter he has no dress sense and that he dresses better than the Englishman. Trump asked Oosthuizen how he spelt his name and when the 2010 Open Champion did so, he remarked he had too many ‘O’s’ in his name.
He informed Stricker to ‘get it together’
Howell 111 says to Trump: “Mr. Trump. Have you seen how well I have been playing this year?”
Trump: “Settle down”.
Howell 111: “I’m driving it good. I’m playing good”.
Trump: “That maybe so but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I can help you with that flop shot. Here’s my ultra-private cell phone number. Call me.”
Howell 111 (clutching the piece of paper): “Thanks, Mr. Trump. I may do that.”
Trump: “It’s just so great having so many great players trying to win this week at Trump Doral. Are then any questions”.
Oosthuizen says something in African.
Trump: “What? Louis, I speak 17 different languages but not that one. You’re fired!
Trump pointing to Stricker, Poutler, Rose and Howell 111: “And you’re fired, you’re fired, and you’re fired. Steve Stricker? You’re fired, too
“In fact, you’re all fired. Go, get out.”
Then the camera cuts to the real Donald Trump, who says: “Peter, I’ve had enough of this. You’re fired!”
Jacobsen then walks off camera removing his cap and false hair.
