Tennis Has Nothing To Compare To The Ryder Cup Says Caroline Wozinacki.

Since they started seeing each other Caroline Wozinacki has become a very avid golf fan.

The Danish tennis ace is in Turkey this week supporting World No. 1 ranked boyfriend, Rory McIlroy.

While McIlroy was decked out all in black – cap, shirt, long trousers and shoes – Wozinacki looked totally more relaxed in a black sports top and black shorts.

She joined McIlroy on the Antalya Golf Club practice range as McIlroy prepared for his opening round match against USA Ryder Cup rival, Matt Kuchar.

Wozinacki then followed McIlroy onto the practice putting green and before someone handed her a badge to at least make her presence on the putting green, and later on out on the course, all legal.

However while walking with her curly-haired beau she was asked what she thought about the Ryder Cup.

“It was fantastic and I was fortunate I got to see a lot of the competition,” said the current World No. 10 ranked tennis star.

“The only event that would come close in tennis to the Ryder Cup is something like the Hoffman Cup or the Federation Cup but they are both on such a smaller scale than something like the Ryder Cup.”

Wozinacki recently ended a long winless drought last month in capturing the Korean Open and it was her first victory since she and McIlroy became ‘an item’.

She said her next event is in Moscow – the $750,000 Kremlin Cup commencing on October 15th while she is already looking ahead to next January’s Australian Open in Melbourne, and instead of contesting the APIA International in Sydney, as she did this year, the Dane is considering competing instead in the Brisbane International which is two week’s prior the first Grand Slam event of the New Year.

But that’s all next year.

As for McIlroy?  Don’t be surprised to see him by her side in the Russian capital as his next tournament is not to the October 25th starting BMW Masters in Shanghai.

Footnote –

Wozinacki may be dating the best golfer in the world but she admits since they met her golf is yet to improve.

“No, it’s not getting any better but then I do take my golf clubs to tennis events sometimes, and there’s a chance I will try and play a game,” she said.

Congratulations to Caroline and to Rory as they’re a great couple and judging the interaction between the two during the course his round, it’s safe to say they’re pretty much in love.
