Eight of the world’s best golfers, headed by World No. 1 Rory McIlroy and 14-time Major winning Tiger Woods will square off Tuesday for a $US 1.5m first prize cheque in the Turkish Airlines World Golf Final Championship.

The event, being staged as a preview to a full-field Turkish Open forming part of the 2013 Race to Dubai schedule, will be held on the Meditteranean shoreline at the Antalya Golf Club in Balek.

www.golfbytourmiss.com will be among those boarding a special Turkish Airlines charter flight departing Edinburgh Airport tonight at 9pm (UK time) and arriving at Antalya around 3am local time Monday morning.

The eight players involved in the Turkish Airlines hosted event will then be present for a press conference around 5pm local time Monday.

Joining McIlroy and Woods will be 2011 Masters champion, Charl Schwartzel along with former World No. 1 Lee Westwood along with fellow Medinah Ryder Cup stars Justin Rose, Matt Kuchar and Webb Simpson.

Also teeing up in Turkey will be American Hunter Mahan who was overlooked for Ryder Cup selection.

A huge audience is expected to be present over the four days while the event will be beamed to 50 countries around the world.
